On this Casual Day during National Month of Deaf People, I consider myself privileged beyond words to work daily with the Deaf Community of South Africa. My employment at DeafSA since the beginning of the year has been such a joy and I am daily deeply thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Deaf people. I am grateful too to be able to converse with friends and community members in South African Sign Language and to advocate for the right of EVERY deaf baby and child to learn SASL, to access early language learning and to gain confidence and identity as a Deaf person. VIVA SASL VIVA!!! VIVA DeafSA VIVA!!! Decent education in SASL for Deaf learners NOW!
